In 1990 a company named Costacos started to put out a series of professional sports posters. The Costacos were crazy because they weren’t your typical “action shots” posters. These things were on a whole ‘nother lever. As you can see from the images, they had a whole story line, costumes, stylists and sometimes nicknames and alter egos that you probably never even heard before. What was crazy was that these were posters of the biggest stars in sports dressing up and posing in what were usually ridiculous outfits and scenarios. You would never see this kind of stuff with today’s athletes. These are posters from a time gone by, when it really was all about the fans.
